About Andrea Johnstone

Andrea (Fraser)-Johnstone's career started at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario  where she worked as a pediatric cardiology secretary.

Longing for something more varied from the static 9 to 5 routine, she applied at the Ottawa courthouse where she spent over 20 years as a court monitor/transcriptionist. At the prompting of a colleague, Andrea completed a real-time stenography course which progressively brought her to the forefront of a variety of high-profile criminal and civil trial cases.

When the Province of Ontario divested the production of court transcripts to private individuals in 2014, Andrea saw an opportunity to take advantage of her skills and transpose them into a growing private business. Fast Back Transcription now enjoys working with a team of transcriptionists and scopists to provide timely, accurate transcription of court proceedings for lawyers and the judiciary.
